Welcome to Luckwell Primary School

Welcome to Luckwell Primary School’s website! I am delighted to serve as Principal of such a warm, inclusive and thriving community.

Since joining in 2018, I have been privileged to work alongside our amazing pupils, families and staff. Our school is rooted in the belief that every child deserves not only to learn, but to flourish — academically, socially and personally.
Our recent inspection by Ofsted (January 2025) confirms that Luckwell is a “small, welcoming community” where pupils “are enthusiastic, curious learners who achieve well”. 

Here at Luckwell, we focus on strong foundations in reading, writing and mathematics, and we believe that language and communication are central to learning. Thanks to our dedicated team, children join us confidently and build from their starting points. 

But our ambition doesn’t stop at the classroom. We aim to develop responsible, compassionate citizens who respect others and feel safe to express themselves. Our pupils know what respect and empathy mean because they see it lived out every day in school. 

As a one-form entry school, we benefit from strong relationships, genuine care and a sense of belonging. Being part of the Excalibur Academies Trust gives us access to greater expertise, opportunities and resources — while maintaining our local character and unique spirit.
